What is a Chrome Denture?
A denture is a removable piece that is used to replace a missing tooth or multiple teeth. Chrome Dentures are made from hard wearing acrylic teeth on a metal alloy frame which fits just behind the teeth. In most cases tooth clasps are added to hold the denture firmly in place.
What are Chrome Dentures for?
Our chrome dentures can be used to replace just one tooth or various missing teeth. The actual framework behind the teeth is much thinner than acrylic dentures, and the clasps are usually combined to anchor the denture to your natural teeth, so more often than not chrome dentures are more comfortable and secure than acrylic dentures.
These benefits can be seen more when several of your natural teeth are in good condition. The minimal design that goes into a chrome denture means that oral hygiene is much easier than having an acrylic denture.
How Long Will my Chrome Denture Last?
The lifespan of your chrome denture can vary, but generally speaking, dentures would be replaced every 6 – 7 years. However, dentures can suffer from general wear and tear cracks or breaks and need to be repaired by our specialist repair team. If you have missing teeth, your gums ultimately will gradually shrink over time, causing your denture to lose its actual fit. In this case, dentures can sometimes be altered to help fit, or in some cases, complete replacements may be required.
